LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 24, 2018) — Rupp Arena is ranked 38th in the U.S. and 77th in the world for concert tickets sold, according to Pollstar’s mid-year ticket sales report. The live event line-up that helped push Rupp Arena into this year’s ranking includes the Eagles, Cirque du Soliel’s Corteo, Miranda Lambert and Foo Fighters.
The line-up for 2018 is delivering strong ticket sales results for Rupp Arena. This is the second time this year the arena landed on the Pollstar ranking list.
Before this year, the last time Rupp Arena made the Pollstar ranking was in 2016. Pollstar is the concert industry’s leading publication that supplies information to managers, agents and promoters of the live entertainment world.
OVG Facilities took over event programming for Rupp Arena in January and since then has announced several exciting events like Red, White & Boom, Marvel Universe Live!, Justin Timberlake, Chris Stapleton and many more.
“The event line-up for the remainder of 2018 is extremely strong,” said OVG Facilities’ David Farrar, director of booking. “We’ve added some great talent to our event calendar and are looking to add a few more before the end of the year. With our aggressive booking strategy and strong ticket sales, I am sure the arena will find a permanent place on the Pollstar ranking.”
