FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 7, 2012) – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff Saturday in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Pfc. Patricia L. Horne, 20, of Greenwood, Miss., died Aug. 24 in Bagram, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense. She was assigned to the 96th Aviation Support Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Funeral services for Pfc. Horne will be conducted Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, Miss. Burial services will immediately follow at Hudson Park Cemetery in Greenwood.
