Vince Tyra opens UofL Center for Free Enterprise speaker series

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Vince Tyra, University of Louisville athletics director, will discuss business values Sept. 12 as he opens the Center for Free Enterprise Fall 2018 Speaker Series at the College of Business.

The free, public event begins at 4:30 p.m. in the PNC Horn Auditorium, Harry Frazier Hall.

The topic of Tyra’s talk will be “Business Values on the Field and in the Office.” Tyra, who in March became UofL’s third athletics director since 1980, is a Louisville native with a strong background in both business and athletics.

The series will continue Oct. 10 with Matt Ridley, author of “The Rational Optimist & the Evolution of Everything.” Ridley’s talk, “Optimism and Innovation,” will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the PNC Horn Auditorium.

The final speaker will be Tyler Cowen, economics professor at George Mason University, who will discuss “Is Big Tech Evil? What Do the Economics Say?” The talk will also begin at 4:30 p.m. in the PNC Horn Auditorium.

Parking is available in the Speed Museum Garage adjacent to the College of Business.
