Midway University hires veteran advancement officer

MIDWAY, Ky. — Midway University has announced the hiring of veteran advancement officer Tim Culver, who joins the university’s senior leadership team as vice president of advancement.

Culver, who officially joined Midway on Aug. 15, most recently served as vice president of advancement at Lexington Catholic High School.

Other posts held by Culver include serving as executive director/director of major gifts for 14 years at the Trinity High School Foundation in Louisville; director of communications in the Office of the Mayor in Louisville; and, as executive director of the United Way of Franklin County. Other career experiences include serving as a news producer for WKYT-TV in Lexington and as a public relations consultant for The Preston Group, Inc.

“We are pleased to have someone with Tim’s diverse background, credentials, and energy join us at Midway during this transformational time for the institution,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, president, Midway University. “Our recent growth in enrollment has led to many fundraising needs related to our students and campus facilities.”

As vice president of advancement, Culver will oversee all aspects of fundraising including the annual fund, athletic fundraising, capital campaigns, major gifts and planned giving, as well as alumni affairs outreach.

“I am looking forward to helping this historic institution continue its mission,” said Culver. “In my few weeks at the University, it already is easy to see what there is to love about this place and our entire advancement team is enthusiastic about sharing Midway’s exciting story with our supporters, alumni and others.”

Culver, a current Woodford County resident, is a native of Louisville where he attended Trinity High School. He earned his bachelor of arts in broadcast journalism from Western Kentucky University.
