Worldcolor, a Canada-based company that provides comprehensive print services, has announced plans to expand its facility in Franklin, Ky.

The expansion represents an investment of $9.7 million and will add 105,000 s.f. to the existing 406,000-s.f. Franklin plant. The additional space will accommodate new binding equipment needed to meet a significant increase in customer print volume to service magazine and catalog customers. With the additional binding equipment, the Franklin plant will be able to handle magazine printing and will serve as the company’s primary magazine production facility, producing four major publications: Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Country Living and Seventeen.
The expansion will add 135 new full-time jobs to the plant’s current 425-member workforce.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved Worldcolor for tax incentives up to $1.95 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The incentive can be earned over a 10-year period through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments.
