FORT MITCHELL, Ky. — The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce presented the NKY Community Award to Rhonda Whitaker Wednesday during the NKY Chamber Board of Directors meeting.

Whitaker, the immediate past chair of the NKY Chamber board and vice president, community relations – Ohio & Kentucky for Duke Energy, has been involved with the NKY Chamber for more than 15 years and was instrumental in developing GROW NKY, the strategic initiative designed to grow, attract, and retain a globally competitive workforce in the region.

“Rhonda’s dedication to the NKY Chamber – and the entire region – has been an inspiration to everyone,” said Brent Cooper, NKY Chamber president. “This past year, she not only led the NKY Chamber as our board chair, she also led the charge to implement the GROW NKY Initiative. In recognition of her service, we are thrilled to present her with the NKY Community Award.”

The NKY Community Award is awarded to exceptional individuals, businesses or organizations that have helped to advance or promote the region. Nominations are open to the community, and awards are presented throughout the year as nominations are received.

The NKY Community Award is sponsored by meetNKY. Individuals interested in learning more about the NKY Community Award, or in submitting a nomination, should contact Lynn Abeln at [email protected].
