It’s also designed to connect students with faculty and staff in finding the right career fit.

Additionally, the service works at the high school level, offering tools for counselors, principals and teachers to help their students discover a potential major, college and career to support the University’s recruitment and enrollment initiatives.

“Finding a major and career plan can be a difficult decision,” said MyMajors President Guy Townsend. “We are proud to partner with Murray State University in developing a custom program that will assist first-time freshmen, transfer students and current students find their top ten best-fit majors at Murray State University. By giving students purpose and working with their support team early on in their academic exploration, we can improve persistence and degree completion.”

More than 2,000,000 students have found their major after completing the short assessment, and Murray State is joining 2,500-plus peer higher education institutions that partner with the service. The University is the only higher education institution in Kentucky using the respected service.

“We’re pleased to partner with MyMajors in implementing a robust career assessment tool that will guide students towards our high-quality academic programs in pursuing careers that align with their interests, strengths and ambitions,” said Dr. Bob Jackson, Murray State president. “This is a major new initiative and significant resource to assist with Murray State’s goals of recruitment, retention and degree completion for our students.”
