Baptist Health Floyd launches new electronic medical records system

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Baptist Health Floyd launched a new Electronic Medical Records system with Epic recently. The multi-million-dollar investment provides seamless access to all providers caring for patients. The new system allows all patient information to be easily accessible at all Baptist Health System Hospitals and Baptist Health Medical Group physician offices, as well as automates certain workflows for more efficient delivery of care.

Baptist Health Floyd President Dr. Dan Eichenberger said, “Previously, the Floyd facilities were on four different medical record platforms and accessing and sharing patient information was challenging. Now, with the transition to Epic, providers and patients will have a smoother experience, reducing the chance for delayed, misplaced or misinterpreted information and less duplication of testing.”

As part of Epic, patients now have access to information about their care on MyChart through a secure web portal, or through the MyChart application available on smartphones and tablets. MyChart allows patients to communicate with providers, schedule appointments, request medication refills and read test results.
