GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Georgetown Community Hospital has launched a new program that allows online access to quality care. HealthyHub Virtual Visit offers patients the opportunity to receive online care from a health care provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week – from the convenience of their smartphone, tablet or computer.
“We are excited to introduce HealthyHub Virtual Visit,” said William Haugh, CEO with Georgetown Community Hospital. “We are continually seeking ways to enhance our community’s access to high quality care, and HealthyHub offers patients the opportunity to receive a diagnosis and treatment from the convenience of their home, office or wherever they may be.”
HealthyHub providers can treat a variety of ailments, including colds and coughs, fevers, flu, ear infections, stomach pain, sore throat, sinus issues, rash, urinary tract infections and more. While HealthyHub Virtual Visits are not intended to serve as a replacement for a long-term relationship with a primary care provider, they provide convenient access to care when needed.
“It’s still very important to have a primary care provider you can trust, who knows your unique medical history and can help guide you on your health journey,” he says. “HealthyHub provides the opportunity to receive care in those situations when an office visit isn’t possible. Whether you’re traveling, can’t fit a visit into your schedule or your provider’s office is closed, HealthyHub is a great alternative that allows you to still receive care when you need it.”
Enrollment in HealthyHub is free. Interested patients can visit GeorgetownCommunityHospital.com/HealthyHub, download the mobile app, fill out the contact information form and set up a username and password. Once these simple steps are completed, patients can browse provider profiles and select a provider of their choosing for a virtual visit. Provider visits are $59, payable by debit or credit card before the virtual visit begins.
Participants must be 18 or older to register an account, although parents and guardians may add children under 18 to their account and have virtual doctor visits on their behalf.
