Lexington Marriott City Center Hotels names catering and events manager

Mackenzie Clark

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Mackenzie Clark has been named catering and events manager of the Lexington Marriott City Center and Residence Inn Lexington City Center.

“Mackenzie’s background in executing large-scale events, combined with her enthusiasm for this role and her love of Lexington, make her the perfect fit for our team,” said Whitney Franklin, director of catering and events of the city center hotels.

Clark, from Owensboro, Ky., graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2016 with a degree in journalism and communications, and always had a passion for the hospitality and event industries.

After graduation and living in Lexington for five years, she moved to Chicago in 2017 to start a new chapter in the event industry. She started her career working in sales at an event rental company, but quickly got promoted to event management where she continued working for two years. She managed large-scale events all over the Chicagoland area.

In May of 2019 she moved back to Lexington to be closer to home. Clark’s entire family still lives in Owensboro and are all very close. She has two little sisters; one a senior in high school, and one a sophomore in college (starting at UK in the fall), and one older brother who runs a sports bar in Owensboro with her father. She loves being surrounded by her family and friends, eating good food, and soaking up the sunshine.

“I am looking forward to this amazing opportunity with the Marriott and such an amazing team,” said Clark. “I know this next step in my adventure is going to allow me to learn so many new things and grow, not only as an individual, but as a young professional as well.”
