VisitLEX announces additional breweries to Brewgrass Trail

LEXINGTON, Ky. — In conjunction with Lexington Craft Beer Week, VisitLEX announced today that the Brewgrass Trail has added seven new breweries. The Brewery Passport is also sporting a brand new look including a full-color cover, suggestions for nearby restaurants, and the distance each brewery is from downtown Lexington, allowing participants to plan excursions with ease.

There are now 18 breweries on the trail for 2019. Breweries new to the trail are Fusion Brewery and Wise Bird Cider in Lexington, Sig Luscher Brewery in Frankfort, Gypsy Run Brewery in Danville, Abettor Brewing in Winchester, My Old Kentucky Foam in Georgetown, and Versailles Brewing in Versailles.  With the addition of so many new breweries, guidelines have been altered to reduce the number of brewery visits required, making it easier for participants to complete their passport and earn prizes.

“We are excited about expanding the trail with more participating brewers not only in Lexington but throughout Central Kentucky,” said Mary Quinn Ramer, president of VisitLEX. “Visitors and residents alike will be able to enjoy a variety of specialty craft beers that make our region unique.”

“Even more importantly, with the growth of the trail, we want to ensure that people enjoy it responsibly. Participants no longer will have to visit every brewery to complete their passport and obtain a prize.”

Here are the new rules for completing the passport, which also is being released this week:

  • After you collect a stamp from six breweries of your choice, drop off or mail completed passports to the Lexington Visitors Center or any participating Brewgrass Trail Brewery.
  • Your souvenir passport will be mailed back to you along with your t-shirt.
  • Once you receive your passport back, you can complete the rest of the stops on the trail (12 more) and choose from either a Brewgrass Trail ballcap, a Brewgrass Trail beanie or two Brewgrass Trail pint glasses.
