Leadership Central Kentucky selects 25-member class for 2019-20

The Leadership Central Kentucky program recently announced its newest class of regional leaders that will begin the 2019-20 leadership development program with an orientation retreat later this week in Woodford County. Now beginning its 20th year, Leadership Central Kentucky’s mission is “to educate to lead, connect, and know our communities.”

Presented by LG&E and KU, participants will attend day sessions each month within the eight-county region that includes Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Madison, Scott, and Woodford counties. Class members will study community and regional topics such as transportation, education, economic development, quality of life, public advocacy, and agri-tourism. The topics are covered by knowledgeable speakers and panels, tours, interactive exercises and class discussions.

Leadership Central Kentucky program director Amy Stout said, “Leadership Central Kentucky is designed to help participants gain a new understanding of how each county’s actions impact the others, and it’s our hope that these graduates will realize that our region will have a better opportunity to reach its highest potential through collaboration and being informed about key issues.”
