LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 25, 2012)—Angela Stephens, a construction attorney in the Louisville, Ky., office of Stites & Harbison, PLLC, is one of three finalists for the prestigious American Bar Association’s (ABA) National Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. She is the first ever attorney from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the first ever construction attorney to be nominated for this award since it was established in 2007. This annual award honors the most talented young lawyers in the nation who demonstrate professional excellence and service to their community as well as to the legal profession.
Nominations for the ABA National Outstanding Young Lawyer Award are made by various divisions of the ABA. Stephens was nominated by the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. She will be recognized as one of the three finalists at the ABA Winter Meeting on February 4, 2012, in New Orleans.
Stephens, a Member (Partner) of the firm and a member of Construction Law Service Group, is a LEED Accredited Professional and uses her knowledge of sustainable design and construction to advise clients about various legal issues arising out of both general construction matters and green or sustainable design. She is the first attorney in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to achieve Green Advantage® certification. She also has substantial involvement with the fabricated structural steel industry in the United States. Her background also includes a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School, Louisville, Ky.
