BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake broke ground on a 130,000-s.f. expansion to their Bowling Green wheel-end production facility Friday. The $65 million investment includes the installation of a new production line to meet customer demand and will add approximately 100 new jobs.
Bendix is expanding on nearly 8.5 acres the company purchased next to their current 302,000-s.f. building in the South Central Kentucky Industrial Park. Once the project is complete, the facility will total 432,000 s.f. At full capacity and favorable market conditions, employment is expected to reach more than 500. Completion of the upgrade is expected by the end of 2020.
A joint venture between Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Dana Commercial Vehicle Products, LLC, BSFB manufactures Bendix air disc and drum brakes in Bowling Green. The Bowling Green wheel-end production facility opened in October 2007 to manufacture the full lineup of Bendix foundation brake products.

Climbing from number six in 2013 to number one in 2018, Bowling Green has been ranked for six consecutive years inSite Selection Magazine’s “Top 10 Metro Areas for New and Expanded Facilities” among metro areas with populations less than 200,000. Bowling Green was also ranked 2018’s ‘Best Place to Live in Kentucky’ by TIME.com.
The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has closed seven economic development projects totaling $349.6 million in capital investment and 905 new jobs for 2019.
