Date set for special election to fill Kentucky’s 38th Senate District seat

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin today executed a writ of election to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation (effective Nov. 16, 2019) of Sen. Dan Seum, who has represented Bullitt County and part of Jefferson County in the General Assembly.

The special election to fill the Kentucky Senate 38th District seat will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020.

In accordance with KRS 118.730 and 118.740, the executive order was filed with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s office and also forwarded to the sheriffs of Bullitt and Jefferson Counties.
