Centre invites all to its free Vice Presidential Debate Festival on Thursday

debate  logo cmyk_Mandy.jpgDANVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 8, 2012) — Not able to secure tickets to the live Vice Presidential Debate in Newlin Hall on Thursday? Centre College welcomes the entire community to join friends and neighbors on the festival lawn starting at noon for a free Debate Festival to take part in this national milestone celebrating the spirit of democracy.

The general public can watch the Vice Presidential Debate as it happens via a live televised broadcast on the festival lawn and enjoy the following programs and performances*:

12 p.m.             Earthman Lanny Smith

1 p.m.              AARP: You’ve Earned a Say

Community Conversation

2 p.m.              Kentucky Ensemble: Jeri Howell

2:35 p.m.         Kentucky Ensemble: MP

3:30 p.m.         Nathan Link Superfriends

4:30 p.m.         Danville Children’s Choir, Centre Men’s Voices, Centre Singers, Danville Summer Singers

6 p.m.              Aly’an

7 p.m.              Ben Sollee

8:10 p.m.         Official Debate Festival Welcome

8:30 p.m.         Pre-Debate Broadcast by C-SPAN

9:00 p.m.         Vice Presidential Debate Broadcast by CNN

10:30 p.m.        The Marshall Tucker Band
