LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Water has added green lights to one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, the Louisville Water Tower, to show compassion for those who have lost their lives to COVID-19.
Sitting on the banks of the Ohio River, Louisville Water Tower is a National Historic Landmark and was part of the company’s original 1860 operations. Today, Louisville Water Tower is the oldest standing ornamental tower in the United States and is home to the WaterWorks Museum. Louisville Water has also added green lights to its downtown office at Third and Chestnut Streets.
Louisville Water’s product is essential in this pandemic for good health, hygiene and hydration. Each day, the company produces an average of 120 million gallons of drinking water for nearly one million people in the Louisville Metro area.
