LEXINGTON, Ky. — SynTerra Corp., a science and engineering consulting firm, is expanding its surveying services in Lexington, throughout Kentucky and across the Southeast. Company officials cite the recent hiring of Nick Jerdon, PLS, as a key move in the expansion.

“Nick brings years of professional surveying experience and knowledge to our SynTerra team,” said Steve Gardner, SynTerra vice president of special projects. “He will apply his skills and leadership to our engineering and site development services in the Kentucky region and beyond.”

Jerdon has 23 years of surveying and engineering experience. He has performed both rural and urban boundary surveys; written legal descriptions; created and submitted subdivision plans and site plans; and performed topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and flood certifications. His engineering experience includes preparation of due diligence reports and cost estimates for commercial developments, as well as assisting in the design of grading, drainage, storm and sanitary sewer and utility layout plans for commercial and residential developments.

Jerdon’s hiring was accompanied by SynTerra’s acquisition of two Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based surveying practices — Brian Foster & Associates and Herring Surveying & Mapping.
