WINCHESTER, Ky. — Cark Regional Medical Center announced Tuesday that Dr. Ananth Kumar has joined Clark Clinic Cardiology. He is a board-certified interventional cardiologist, and specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the heart and blood vessels, including procedures such as heart catheterizations, atherosclerosis, congenital heart disease and atrial fibrillation.
He recently worked at Heart Matters, PSC in Richmond, Ky., and was director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and medical ICU at Baptist Health in Richmond.
Kumar graduated with his medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belgaum, India, and performed his residency and fellowship at the University of Illinois at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. He has certifications in endovascular medicine, vascular medicine, cardiac devices specialist, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology.
When not working, Kumar enjoys having fun with his family, traveling, astrology and gardening.
He will begin seeing new patients Aug. 7 in his office at Clark Clinic Cardiology, 455 Bullion Boulevard, Winchester. Appointments may be made by calling (859) 737-8482. His office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
