ShelbyKY Tourism creates Restaurant Week, Nov. 9-13

SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. – In the mood for a culinary-driven night out, day trip, staycation or creative takeout options? Head to ShelbyKY for its inaugural Restaurant Week, Nov. 9-13. Participating restaurants in Shelby County, including popular stops Claudia Sanders, Spotz Gelato, the Barrel Room and Bell House Restaurant, will offer specials; no coupons or tickets needed. Plus, diners who post on social media will be entered to win restaurant gift cards.

“ShelbyKY Tourism is more passionate than ever to serve the culinary and hospitality industries,” said Chenelle McGee, president and CEO of ShelbyKY Tourism . “The first Restaurant Week comes at a significant time. As we head into our slower tourist season, the restaurant industry has taken a big hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, studies show that when areas host a restaurant week, there is the potential to grow it into a wide-scale event that will have a ripple effect beyond the restaurant industry. We are excited to be leading the charge for that growth.”

Including ShelbyKY’s tap house, bakeries and coffee shops, ShelbyKY Tourism designed Restaurant Week to celebrate the food industry, keep customers shopping within Shelby County and encourage new guests to visit. Participating businesses may be found online, with new establishments added up to Nov. 9.

“Become a culinary tourist! Simply pick a participating restaurant and ask for their Restaurant Week special for dine-in or takeout,” McGee said.

Those who share food photos from Restaurant Week on social media will be entered to receive dining gift cards. Tag photos on Facebook or Instagram with #ShelbyKYEats or #VisitShelbyKY and be entered to win. There will be two daily winners that will receive a gift card from one of the participating restaurants and one Grand Prize winner that will receive a $100.00 gift card to a Shelbyville or Simpsonville restaurant of their choice.
