CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Private equity firm Trivest Partners invested in Lexington, Ky.-based Bluegrass Orthopaedics, creating a nationally focused orthopedic management services organization.
Bluegrass Orthopaedics has 14 physicians offering an array of orthopedic services including sports medicine and total joint replacement. The investment also included Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center. In 2020, the surgery center treated more than 16,000 patients and performed more than 2,700 surgeries.
Bluegrass Orthopaedics will anchor Trivest’s orthopedic platform. Trivest plans on growing its geographical presence through add-on acquisitions. Investment bank Ziegler advised on the transaction. Ziegler announced the platform formation on Jan. 26.
