Shoals Technologies to Build HQ, $10.5M Plant in Gallatin

By wmadministrator

Shoals Technologies Group, a company that manufactures solar energy panel components, has announced plans to expand its operations and headquarters into Gallatin, Tenn.

The company is investing $10.5 million in the project and will initially employ approximately 100 people, including corporate executives, at the new 100,000-s.f. facility near Nashville. Employment is expected to grow to more than 300 over the next three years.

Shoals was founded in 1996 as an automotive parts manufacturing company. In 2004, as a result of a lagging automotive market, Shoals diversified into the emerging alternative energy field, manufacturing components used in the construction and installation of solar panels and other alternative energy products.
The company employs some 80 people at its only other U.S. facility, in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Due to the rapid growth of the alternative energy market, a second facility is now needed along with another employee pool as the company anticipates continued rapid expansion.
