Give 270 to donate raffle proceeds to Deputy Caleb Conley Memorial Fund

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Regional nonprofit Give 270 has announced that proceeds from its next Whiskey Wednesdays raffle, set for Wednesday, June 7, will benefit the Deputy Caleb Conley Memorial Fund through Whitaker Bank. The fund was established to support the family of the late Scott County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Caleb Conley, who was killed in the line of duty on May 22.

Deputy Conley, who left behind a wife and two children when he was shot and killed during a traffic stop, served for eight years in the U.S. Army before becoming a deputy.

“We were contacted by a former co-worker and friend of Deputy Conley looking for a way to help the deputy’s family,” said Eric Clemens, Board Chair for Give 270. “Through our weekly Whiskey Wednesdays raffles, we have a vehicle to promptly respond to immediate needs in our region like the tragedy involving Deputy Conley.”

Jordan Jacobs worked with Deputy Conley and wanted to do something for his friend and the family he left behind.

“Immediately when I heard about this tragedy, I wanted to do something to help the Conley family,” Jacobs said. “My brother helped connect me with Give 270 to make this donation possible.”

Round 7 of the weekly Whiskey Wednesdays raffles kicked off in April, providing ticket purchasers with five chances to win valuable bourbon prizes each week. Raffles in Round 7 occur on Give 270’s Facebook page and YouTube channel each Wednesday from 8 p.m. until June 28.

Each week, Give 270 gives away the grand prize of a bottle of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, along with a Weller 12 Year, a Weller Antique 107, a Weller Special Reserve, and a bottle of Riff Corp, a single barrel selection of New Riff bourbon from Elizabethtown-based retailer John O’s Liquors. For the June 7 raffle, a Weller Vertical donated by Jacobs will also be given away. The vertical includes a Weller Single Barrel, a Weller C.Y.P.B, a Weller Full Proof, a Weller 12 Year Old, a Weller Antique 107, and a Weller Special Reserve.

Tickets for Whiskey Wednesdays raffles are $5 and there is no limit to the amount of tickets purchased per individual each week.

“We are hoping to sell 2,500 tickets in memory of Deputy Conley who gave all in the line of duty,” Jacobs said.
