Cathy Lowe named new CNO at Saint Joseph Hospital

Cathy Lowe

LEXINGTON, Ky. — CHI Saint Joseph Health has named Cathy Lowe, DNP, MBA, RN, CEN, as the new vice president of patient care services/chief nursing officer (CNO) at Saint Joseph Hospital.

“I have been looking for the right culture and the right fit for me with a CNO position, and Saint Joseph Hospital felt right,” Lowe said. “I really like the vision as related to the mission of the ministry, and the internal goals set by our leadership team.”

Lowe has more than 20 years of health care experience ranging from inpatient nursing to emergency services. She has many years of experience in emergency departments, where she provided leadership to assess and improve ED processes. She served as an assistant chief nursing officer with HCA in Trinity, Fla., and most recently as an assistant chief nursing officer in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Her tenure in frontline nursing care has built her philosophy of care and set the foundation for her goals as a nursing leader at Saint Joseph.

“We have a strong nursing team at Saint Joseph Hospital, and my goal is to strengthen that cohesiveness with which we operate as we provide high-quality care for our patients,” she said. “I am excited about the opportunities to continue to build on the foundation of a strong nursing team and the exceptional care that they provide our patients.”

Lowe received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University, and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and a Master of Business Administration from Anderson University. She completed her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Central Florida in May.

Lowe and her husband Greg have two daughters and six grandchildren, as well as a Scottish terrier, Frazer. The couple will be living in Nicholasville.
