American Airlines announces non-stop seasonal Lexington-Miami service

Weekly flights to be offered November through March

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Blue Grass Airport (LEX) announced American Airlines will soon offer non-stop, weekly flights between Lexington and Miami International Airport (MIA). Beginning November 11, 2023, this seasonal service will be offered every Saturday through March 30, 2024, — just in time for winter getaways, the holidays and spring break.

Miami offers plenty for travelers to explore, including its historic art deco district and beaches that span more than 20 miles of the Atlantic coastline. Enjoy areas such as Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Little Havana, Miami Beach and Sunny Isles Beach. Named the 2023 Food City of the Year by Bon Appetit, visitors can experience a variety of restaurants featuring a diverse range of culinary choices. Miami is also Cruise Capital of the World and serves as the beginning of the journey for many cruise lines including Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International.

“We hope central Kentucky travelers will enjoy this winter getaway opportunity,” said Eric Frankl, president & CEO of Blue Grass Airport. “This service will provide exceptional access to not only the Miami area, but it also offers easy connecting opportunities to the warmth of the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America. We are appreciative of our partners at American Airlines for continuing to grow its flight options from Lexington.”

Service will be provided on a 76-seat, ERJ-175 aircraft and will include a first-class cabin. Tickets are available for sale now at www.aa.com.
