Kentucky is in the top ten least clumsy states in America

New data has uncovered the least accident-prone states in America.

The research by personal injury attorneys Injured in Florida analyzed average monthly searches for accident-related terms in each state, including but not limited to ‘urgent care’ and ‘how to tell if a bone is fractured or bruised.’ It then compared each state’s combined total searches against its population to reveal the number of searches per 100,000 residents.

North Dakota takes the crown as the least accident-prone state. In the Peace Garden State, residents have searched for accident-related terms 2,535 times on average each month over the past year. This totals 325 times per 100,000 residents, 589 searches less than the national average of 914. ‘Urgent care’ is the most popular term nationwide, with 2,246,355 average monthly searches nationally and 1,080 in North Dakota.

In second place is West Virginia. There have been 8,094 average monthly searches for accident-related terms in the Mountain State, totaling 456 searches per 100,000 residents, 458 less than the national average. ‘Emergency room’, with 518 average monthly searches over the last 12 months, is the second most searched term in the state.

South Dakota is the third least accident-prone state. In total, residents are searching for accident-related terms 4,257 times per month. This equates to 478 average monthly searches per 100,000 residents, 436 less than the national average. ‘Sprained ankle’, with 254 monthly searches, is the third most searched term in Mount Rushmore State.

Mississippi ranks in fourth place. In the Magnolia State, there are 13,819 monthly searches for accident-related terms, 470 per 100,000 residents, 444 less than the national average. The fourth most popular, with 380 average monthly searches, is ‘ER near me.’

In fifth place is Montana. The Treasure State has been searching for accident-related terms 5,929 times in the last 12 months, 528 per 100,000 residents, 386 less than the national average, with and ‘ER near me’ and ‘sprained ankle’ ranking as the fourth and fifth most popular.

Arkansas is in sixth place. The Natural State has searched for accident-related terms 18,158 total times each month, 596 per 100,000 residents, 318 less than the national average. ‘Sprained wrist’ is the fifth most searched for across the state, with 361 total searches.

Maine is seventh, with 8,346 total and 603 per 100,000 residents’ monthly searches over the last 12 months. Idaho, representing 12,890 and 665 average monthly searches, comes in a close eighth place, followed by Wisconsin with 39,703 and 674. Kentucky rounds out the top ten least accident-prone states, with 30,627 total and 679 per 100,000 residents.

A spokesperson at Injured in Florida has commented: “In the United States, there are approximately 151 million emergency room admissions yearly. These accidents, which represent everything from a broken toe to a sprained wrist, can happen from a fall at home or an accident in the workplace.

“North Dakota has been named the least accident-prone state based on the number of accident-related searches over the last 12 months. However, the study includes states from across the country, from Maine to Montana, revealing one thing everyone has in common.”
