Kentucky Crafted Market returns to Kentucky Horse Park March 9-10

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Crafted Market, the Kentucky Arts Council’s showcase event featuring the best visual art and craft in the commonwealth, will return to the Kentucky Horse Park’s Alltech Arena in Lexington March 9 and 10.

More than 100 of Kentucky’s best visual and craft artists, all adjudicated members of the arts council’s Kentucky Crafted program, will exhibit and sell their work at The Market.

“It’s always exciting to welcome some of Kentucky’s best artists to Alltech Arena for The Market,” said Chris Cathers, Kentucky Arts Council executive director. “And once again, we are making admission free. That’s been a very successful change we’ve implemented that has translated to more customer engagement and sales for our artists. So, come on out and bring a carload of friends.”

In addition to outstanding Kentucky-made visual art and crafts, visitors can enjoy live music from the Market Stage, featuring performers from the Arts Council’s Performing Artists Directory. There will also be a hands-on activities area for kids of all ages, a folklife area highlighting intersections of community art and history and several Kentucky Proud food producers.

The Market will be open to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 9 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10. The event will be open only to registered wholesale buyers for Trade Only Day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 8.
