LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lifepoint Health network of hospitals in Central Kentucky published its 2023 Community Impact Report highlighting the regional economic footprint of the system’s four acute care hospitals and more than 50 physician office locations.
Bluegrass Community Hospital (Versailles), Bourbon Community Hospital (Paris), Clark Regional Medical Center (Winchester) and Georgetown Community Hospital (Georgetown) make up Lifepoint Health’s Central Kentucky market. The teams provide critical services close to home and are recognized as quality leaders through Lifepoint Health’s National Quality Program, which honors hospitals with outstanding leadership, performance and culture.
The Report outlines the collective benefit of the four hospitals with notable features that include:
- Contributing nearly $25.2 million in taxes
- Distributing over $136 million in payroll to approximately 1,645 employees
- Over $43,348,677 in charity and other uncompensated care
“We are proud to not only offer high-quality healthcare services to the communities we serve, but also a positive financial affect to the region” says Cliff A. Wilson, III, chief executive officer of Georgetown Community Hospital and market president for the Central Kentucky system. “Sometimes, we take for granted our local hospitals in rural or suburban communities. This report underscores the scale of our community-based hospitals throughout our combined service area of 17 Kentucky counties.”
Bluegrass Community Hospital, Bourbon Community Hospital, Clark Regional Medical Center and Georgetown Community Hospital do not have plans of slowing down anytime soon. Clark Regional Medical Center recently has undergone a $4 million expansion to its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to meet the demands of higher acuity patients from eastern Kentucky and Georgetown Community Hospital is opening 30,000 square feet of a class “A” Medical Office Building this month.
