Bingham Greenebaum Doll elects two new partners

 LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 7, 2012) — Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP is pleased to announce that Ross D. Cohen and Peter L. Thurman Jr. have been elected by the firm’s partnership to join their ranks.

Ross D. Cohen joined the firm’s Louisville office in 2005.  He concentrates his practice in areas involving federal tax law, including planning and transactional tax issues involving partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations, C corporations and exempt organizations. His practice also includes analysis of federal tax aspects of income deferral and executive compensation.

Cohen is a former Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Tax Section and Louisville Bar Association’s Tax Section.  He received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, his juris doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law and his master of laws degree in taxation from New York University.

Peter L. Thurman Jr. participated in the firm’s summer associate program in 2004 and joined the firm’s Louisville office in 2005.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of health care and insurance law, including state and federal regulatory compliance, certificate of need, licensure, fraud and abuse, and litigation.  He also advises clients on issues involving state procurement law and employee benefits.

Thurman has been recognized by Business First as a “Partner in Health Care” for the Louisville-area community and in Louisville Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in the area of health care law.  He serves on the Board of Directors for the Neighborhood House and on the Board of Directors and Development Committee for the Heuser Hearing Institute and Heuser Hearing and Language Academy.  He received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Denison University and his juris doctor,magna cum laude, from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.
