Firefighters come to Lexington for latest training and information

VERSAILLES, Ky. (FEB. 26, 2014) — Firefighters from across the state will convene in Lexington Feb. 28 through March 2 for the 27th Annual Bryant Stiles Officers School at the Lexington Convention Center.

Firefighters will learn the latest in fire saftey, equipment and drills during classroom instruction.

“Training really never ends when you are a firefighter,” said Ronnie Day, executive director of the Kentucky Fire Commission. “It’s important that our firefighters are well-educated and prepared to respond to fire situations and any other specialized rescues.”

The more than 1,000 firefighters and first responders from across the commonwealth are expected to attend the Officers School. They will be able to choose from more than 30 courses including: traffic incident management, school bus extrication and heavy cargo rescue problems, kids killing kids, risks and threats to first responders and more.
