Old Cardinal Stadium to Become a New Winter Wonderland

By wmadministrator

Cardinal Stadium hosts concerts each year in conjunction with the Kentucky State Fair. This winter, the stadium will be transformed for eight weeks into a winter entertainment park.

The Kentucky State Fair Board has announced plans to utilize the former University of Louisville Cardinal Stadium for a new winter entertainment attraction.

The centerpiece of Snow Ball Park will be an eight-lane tubing hill and will also include a snow maze and ice castle snow play area. The park will feature the SnowMagic system, which uses a patented snowmaking system that works in any temperature by freezing water to create tiny snow crystals, regardless of the ambient temperature.

In addition, the park will offer music, dancing, dinner, drinks and concessions. Private settings and catering will be available for corporate events, birthday parties, holiday events and school fundraisers.

The venue will be open from Nov. 25 through Jan. 16. Afterwards, ramps, risers and other items used to create Snow Ball Park will be removed to accommodate other events and concerts at Cardinal Stadium.

Admission prices will range from $8 to $15; guests with military identification are eligible for a $5 entry fee. For more information, visit snowballpark.com or call (877) 9SNOBALL
