Carhartt to Add 150 Jobs as Part of $11M Facility Expansion

Carhartt’s rugged apparel has become popular with workers both on and off the job.

Apparel-maker Carhartt Inc. is investing $11 million to upgrade technology and equipment at its distribution center in Hanson.

The investment will result in the addition of 150 more employees to the company’s existing 550-member work force.

The project is already under way and is expected to be complete by 2014.
Established in 1889, Carhartt is a family-owned manufacturing company that specializes in premium work wear. The company has been in operation in Kentucky for more than 80 years and its manufacturing administrative office continue to be located in Irvine, Ky. The company has had a business presence in Hanson since 1979.
