Lexington high school student arrested for bringing gun to school

Incident happened at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School

There was a pair of shootings in Lexington last weekend.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 11, 2015) — A student at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington was taken into custody today for bringing a gun to school. The gun was not loaded, but the student had ammunition in his backpack, said Fayette County Public Schools officials.

The student has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property and taken into custody. The student will face serious administrative consequences through the school district, and may also face legal consequences through the juvenile court system.
