Honored by American Hospital Association
DANVILLE, Ky. (April 28, 2015) — Vicki A. Darnell, president and CEO, Ephraim McDowell Health, received the American Hospital Association (AHA) Grassroots Champion Award on Friday in Louisville.
The Grassroots Champion Award is presented to one hospital leader in each state who offers exceptional leadership in generating grassroots and community activity in support of a hospital’s mission. The award was created to recognize those leaders who most effectively educate elected officials on how major issues affect the hospital’s role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base community support for the hospital, and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients.
AHA consists of nearly 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 43,000 individual members.
