Deadline to register for Kentucky College Application Month is June 30

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 21, 2015) — The deadline to register for Kentucky College Application Month is June 30. The event, sponsored by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), will be held in November. It gives high school seniors hands-on help in applying for college.

Schools that register by the June 30 deadline will receive free materials from KHEAA to help make the program successful. For more information, visit www.kycollegeappmonth.com.

Each school is responsible for its own program. At a minimum, that means setting aside time and space for seniors to complete college applications with the help of school, college and community volunteers.

Schools should reach out to volunteers to help with activities. KHEAA Outreach staff can help on a first-come, first-served basis. Schools that register agree to complete a survey and to track and share basic event data with KHEAA. This helps KHEAA measure the program’s impact.

KHEAA is the state agency that administers the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES), need-based grants and other programs to help students pay their higher education expenses.
