EKU has best fundraising year since 2001; raises more than $4M

Funds support athletics, pedestrian mall, scholarships

RICHMOND, Ky. (July 20, 2015) — Eastern Kentucky University received $4,144,457 in fundraising from private investors for Fiscal Year 2015, the highest total since 2001, according to Nick Perlick, vice president for development and alumni relations.

EKUMore than 9,200 donors—half of them alumni—contributed to EKU.

Gifts will support a $15 million multi-purpose facility to replace the east-side grandstands at Roy Kidd Stadium. Another project is a newly fashioned pedestrian mall outside the library.

Several facility projects within the EKU revitalization initiative are anticipated to remain fundraising priorities in coming years, including a proposed alumni and welcome center.

Additional significant gifts came in FY 2015 in support of scholarships.
