New Kentucky Career Center opens in Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown, Ky. – A new Kentucky Career Center has opened in Elizabethtown, Ky., bringing two organizations under one roof to help foster stronger connections between workforce and economic development.

The Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail and the Elizabethtown Hardin County Industrial Foundation location enables seamless, enhanced services to job seekers and employers in a single location. Bringing these co-tenants under a single roof fosters stronger connections between workforce and economic development, positioning local communities to better meet workforce demands, create new career opportunities and encourage economic growth.

“This is a true one-stop center for developing a pipeline of skilled workers and economic development right here in Hardin County,” Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Crit Luallen said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “The work of the career center is moving the state forward in preparing a workforce that companies cannot wait to hire.”

Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board member Mo Miller also addressed those gathered to mark the grand opening.

“It’s about creating opportunities for job seekers and ensuring our employers have the talent they need to succeed and grow right here in the Lincoln Trail region,” Miller said, noting recent local investments such as job-creating expansions at Metalsa and Hendrickson in Elizabethtown.

Elizabethtown Hardin County Industrial Foundation Board of Directors Chairman Greg Jenkins emphasized what the new facility symbolizes for employers and site selectors.

“Employers know available talent and their business’ growth and success go hand in hand,” Jenkins said. “Now, it’s even clearer that we recognize that very same thing.”

The city of Elizabethtown played a key role in establishing the new offices and is owner of the building.

“I’m proud that Elizabethtown is home to this new facility, and I’m excited to see the difference it’s going to make in this city and beyond,” Elizabethtown Mayor Edna Berger said at the grand opening.

Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet Secretary Thomas Zawacki also was on hand at the event and highlighted workforce development success throughout the Lincoln Trail region. He noted Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail serves an eight-county region through the full-service career center in Elizabethtown and affiliate centers in Bardstown, Lebanon and Leitchfield, all of which have earned state certification.

“That certification means the partners of the Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail are meeting the highest possible standards,” Zawacki said.

Workforce development experts encouraged job seekers and employers to contact the career center at (270) 766-5115 or visit www.ltcareercenter.org to learn more about the custom, no-cost services available.
