Before coming to Midway, Bigard spent seven years as vice president of administration and finance at Blackburn College. She supervised business affairs, the bookstore, food service, physical plant division, human resources, financial aid, admissions and risk management. She has held similar positions at Benedictine University, Deaconess College of Nursing and Lambuth University.

“We conducted a national search to fill this position and Heather’s credentials and achievements really stood out,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, President of Midway University. “She is an accomplished professional and we are glad to have her here as Midway University continues to work toward a brighter future.”

Bigard holds a bachelor of Business Administration in accounting/finance from Lambuth University and a master of science in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University. She is currently working to complete her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education and Organizational Change.

Financial health and aligning the institution with best practices is a major part of Midway University’s three-year strategic plan (2014-2017).

“Much work has been done to balance our operating budgets for the last two fiscal years,” said Marsden. “Having someone with Heather’s broad knowledge of higher education from financial aid to student recruitment to facilities management is important to help us continue to move forward.”
