Louisville to host NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional

Games scheduled for March 25 and 27, 2016

south regionalINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 1, 2015) — Louisville will host Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games during the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. Louisville was selected as the South Regional site. Anaheim, Calif. will host the West Regional, Philadelphia the East Regional, Chicago the Midwest Regional, while the Final Four will be held in Houston. Games in Louisville are scheduled for March 25 and 27, 2016.

Tickets to preliminary rounds go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Oct. 17 in each host city. First Four and first and second round games will be held in Dayton, Denver; Des Moines, Providence, Raleigh, Brooklyn, Oklahoma City, St. Louis and Spokane, Wash.

“This is a great opportunity for college basketball fans to see March Madness in some of our traditional cities with a long history of hosting the tournament, as well as a couple of new cities that have never hosted before,” said Dan Gavitt, the NCAA’s vice president of men’s basketball. “From major markets to smaller cities, there’s a great chance that America’s best sporting event is going to be played reasonably close to any fan in the country, so it’s a terrific opportunity to come watch history unfold.”
