Company began working on New York Mets bats today
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Slugger bats will be featured in this year’s World Series. The factory began producing bats for the New York Mets, the National League champion, and will begin producing bats Monday for the American League champion, the Kansas City Royals.
The World Series begins Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.
Louisville Slugger said it has made bats for players in every World Series since 1903.
The bats for the Mets will be made to each player’s specifications, including three new bats for New York’s Daniel Murphy, who hit home runs in six consecutive playoff games. Murphy uses a 33.5-inch, 31.5-ounce birch Louisville Slugger.
