EKU ranked third in nation for “Best for Vets”

Seven other Kentucky colleges ranked by Military Times

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 12, 2015) — Eastern Kentucky University ranks third among four-year schools in Military Times 2016 “Best for Vets” rankings released this week. Six other Kentucky four-year schools made the list, while one Kentucky school was included in the list of top two-year schools.

2016_BFV_COLLEGESRankings are determined by a survey of more than 120 questions as well as data from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense and three Department of Education databases for information ranging from veteran-related policies to average salaries after graduation.

EKU, which had 1,110 veterans in 2014, was ranked third behind the University of Nebraska Omaha and the University of South Florida.

Western Kentucky University, ranked 17th, has 560 veterans, Northern Kentucky University, ranked 36th, has 547 veterans, the University of Kentucky, ranked 63rd, has 368 veterans, Morehead State University, ranked 85th, has 131 veterans, the University of Louisville, ranked 93rd, has 913 veterans and Murray State University, ranked 103rd, has 247 veterans.

Hopkinsville Community College, which has 839 veterans, was ranked 11th among two-year schools.
