Lt. Gov-elect Hampton appoints chief of staff

Frankfort, Ky. – Lt. Governor-Elect Jenean Hampton announced Steve Knipper, former Republican nominee for Secretary of State, has accepted the Chief of Staff position for the Lt. Governor’s Office.

“It’s an honor to lead the Lt. Governor’s staff. I believe strongly in the vision she has for Kentucky and I look forward to helping her implement those ideas,” Knipper said. “This is an exciting time to be a Kentuckian. I’m confident we have many brighter days ahead.”

Knipper, 45, grew up in Edgewood, KY. He attended Covington Catholic High School and Northern Kentucky University, where he graduated with Honors. Steve has over 15 years of experience at S&P 500 and Fortune 200 Corporations.  In addition, he worked in the health care sector for over 7 years.

Steve has led teams on both the business and the information technology side of several corporations. Steve was a member of the Erlanger City Council where he served as co-chair of the finance committee. In addition, Steve served as a member of the Kenton County Board of Adjustments. He is a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Lakeside Christian Church.

Steve with his wife, Stephanie, live in Independence with their six children, five of whom are special needs children they adopted from China.
