Bowling Green to cut ribbon Thursday on wellness and health care center for city employees and dependents

Offers primary care services with no co-payments, no deductibles and no costs for on-site generic medications

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Jan. 11, 2016) — The City of Bowling Green will hold a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the City Hall Annex for the opening of the City Care Center (CCC).

V9meHTNn_wide980CCC is a health and wellness center that provides primary and preventive healthcare to city employees and their dependents covered by the city’s self-funded medical plan.

CCC was created through a collaborative partnership between the City of Bowling Green, employee benefits specialist SHERRILL MORGAN and Tennessee-based healthcare company CareHere.

City Manager Kevin D. DeFebbo said “the City Care Center is the next step in ensuring our employees have the most efficient, affordable, quality, and convenient healthcare that we can offer, at a savings to the City and its taxpayers.”

CCC will offer primary care services with no copayments, no deductibles and no costs for on-site generic medications. This type of cost savings is an obvious benefit to covered city employees and their families. Appointments are never double-booked, so the wait time is on average less than two minutes. The city is expected to save money normally spent on office visits, prescriptions, lab work, preventative care and disease management. MarkMorgan, President of SHERRILL MORGAN, advised that implementing the facility would not only benefit the employees, but also change the way they view healthcare.

“One of the biggest issues in our country is ‘When can I see my doctor and for how long?’” said SHERRILL MORGAN president Mark Morgan, who advised that implementing the facility would not only benefit the employees, but also change the way they view healthcare. “The City Care Center addresses these concerns in a very effective manner.”

CCC is located at the City Hall Annex, 1017 College Street in Bowling Green.
