Basic business workshop being offered in Eastern Kentucky

For area artists, small business owners and potential entrepreneurs

MOREHEAD, Ky. (Jan. 11, 2016) — Morehead State University’s East Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Pike County Extension Office are offering the four-course “Business Basics Workshop Series” on Jan. 12, 19, 26 and Feb. 9 at the Pike County Extension Office.

SBDC-logo-web-1-16The workshop offers area artists, small business owners and potential entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn more about the basics of business planning, marketing, record keeping and business lending.

The focus will be on start-up considerations, self-evaluations, business structures, choosing the correct marketing strategy, defining key business financial documents and what they say about your business, business lending and business credit.

Mike Morley and Michelle Spriggs with the Pikeville and Paintsville Small Business Development Centers will lead the workshops.

Training sessions are being offered at no cost but prior registration is required. Training programs, sponsored or co-sponsored by SBDC, are available to all individuals without regard to race, color, sex, creed or national origin. Special arrangements will be made for those with disabilities if requested in advance.
