NKY manufacturing panel slated for Covington Business Council luncheon

Covington, Ky. – An impressive panel including a Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet official will discuss the State of Manufacturing in Covington at the Covington Business Council monthly luncheon, Thursday, February 18 at the Madison Events Center.

Tri-ED President and CEO Dan Tobergte moderates the panel which includes Steve Barnett, Founder and President, Indy Honeycomb, Rhonda Whitaker, Duke Energy Government and Community Relations Director and Co-Chair, Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Coalition and Josh Benton, Executive Director of Workforce Development, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.

Tobergte states you can’t over-emphasize the importance of the manufacturing business. “Primary industry drives growth. Manufacturing is the strongest of these industries, generating new wealth that employees and residents spend locally; spending that restaurants, cafes, shops and services rely on for continued success in Covington.”

The panel will cover what is being down locally and statewide to strengthen this sector. In Covington alone there are 20 manufacturing companies.

The luncheon begins with networking at 11:30am at the Events Center, located at 700 Madison Avenue. A buffet is served just before the one-hour program begins at noon. Registration: www.cbcky.com or (859) 431-1500.
