Gateway to host human services program fair and awards

Scheduled for Wednesday in Covington

FLORENCE, Ky. (Feb.15, 2016) — Gateway Community and Technical College Human Services will host a program fair and awards from 4:45-5:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Urban Metro Campus in Covington.

gatewayGateway students and the public are invited to attend the event to learn more about the variety of human service educational opportunities at Gateway that lead to careers in aging services, disabilities services, substance abuse coaching and mental health.

Attendees will also receive information provided by Gateway departments and partners, including more than 30 community resources such as housing, healthcare, childcare, food assistance, tuition assistance, educational support, four-year institutions, employment opportunities and crisis intervention.

Current Human Services students may speak to community partners to secure service learning and internship placement for upcoming semesters.

In addition, local leaders and Gateway staff and students will be recognized by the Human Services Program in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Community Partner
  • Make a Difference Award
  • Outstanding Human Service students.
