More than 6,000 archers expected to compete at tournaments in Louisville

Events will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 10, 2016) — More than 6,000 archers are expected to compete in a pair of archery tournaments coming to Louisville.

arcThe National Field Archery Association Indoor Nationals are scheduled from March 18-20 at Kentucky International Convention Center, with archers from 7 to 70 competing in more than 60 divisions from professional to amateur. The event is free and open to the public.

The Indoor Nationals is the second leg of the annual 3 Star Tour, which offers more than $250,000 in prize money as well as a chance to win a million dollar prize for consecutive perfect scores at each event.

Visitors can browse bows, arrows, scopes, archery accessories, apparel and more at the archery trade show.

The National Archery in the Schools Program Kentucky State Tournament will be held March 21-22 at the Kentucky International Convention Center. More than 4,300 student archers, ranging from fourth to 12th grade, will compete at the event. Tickets are $5 per person (ages ten and up).

The National Archery in the School Program began in 2002 as a way to involve children in outdoor activities. More than 90,000 students participate in the National Archery in the Schools Program in Kentucky.
