NCAA Tourney South Region moves to Louisville for three games this week

UnknownIncludes No. 1 seed Kansas

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 21, 2016) — Despite no Kentucky colleges or universities reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, the Commonwealth of Kentucky will still feature prominently in this week’s games, with the South Region being played at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.

The first game played this week in Louisville will be at 7:10 p.m. Thursday when No. 3 seed Miami (27-7) faces No. 2 seed Villanova. In the second game, scheduled for 9:40 p.m., or 30 minutes after the first game, No. 1 seed and the tournament’s overall No. 1 seed Kansas (32-4) plays No. 5 seed Maryland (27-8).

The winners play Sunday for a berth in the Final Four. The KFC Yum! Center has 22,090 seats, but held a record 22,815 people in a 2013 game.
