Gov. Bevin makes appointments to boards and commissions

Makes three appointments

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 1, 2016) — Gov. Matt Bevin has made appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions.

William A. Bowie, Jr. and Herb Goff were appointed to the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for terms expiring January 1, 2020.

The Kentucky State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors was established by an Act of the Kentucky General Assembly in 1938 to protect the public health, safety and welfare. The board is self-supporting and receives no general fund tax dollars.

Dan Martin has been appointed to the State Board of Physical Therapy for a term expiring January 1, 2020.

The Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy is an autonomous board consisting of seven board members. Six of these members are physical therapists, while one is a public member. The mission of the board is to protect the public by ensuring that licensure qualifications and standards are met and that appropriate disciplinary action is taken when violations of the Practice Act occur. The board interprets and enforces the laws and regulations through the credentialing process, investigating complaints and applying disciplinary measures as set forth by law.
