Classic ’50s Chevy group to keep meeting in Bowling Green through ’27

001-yellow-57-chevy-front-blownBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (May 13, 2016) – American Tri-Five Association announced it will host the Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals, the world’s largest gathering of 1955, ‘56 and ‘57 Chevrolets, at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green through 2027.

Presented by Woody’s Hot Rodz, this event is estimated to bring at least a $30 million economic impact. The Tri-Five Nationals is currently in year two of its initial three-year contract to come to Bowling Green. This new commitment adds 10 years to the initial contract.

“We’re so excited to commit to Bowling Green and appreciate the efforts given by Beech Bend Park staff and Dallas Jones, the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and our host hotel, the Holiday Inn University Plaza, to help make this happen,” Chris Sondles, founder of the American Tri-Five Association, said. “Bowling Green area hotels, restaurants, and businesses have been great to work with and provided us with excellent hospitality and open arms during our inaugural event last year and we look forward to continuing our tradition.”

In August 2015, more than 11,000 people attended the inaugural Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals celebrating the 60th anniversary of the 1955 Chevy and saw nearly 1,900 cars at Beech Bend Raceway. The 2016 event is scheduled for August 12-13 and is projected to bring over 2,300 cars and more than 16,000 attendees.

A tribute to 60 years of the 1956 Chevy, event activities include a Wednesday night Fan Fest on Fountain Square, a welcome barbecue and live music on Thursday night at the Holiday Inn, plus a new Women’s World shopping area featuring handmade crafts and apparel open to the public on Thursday and Friday at the Sloan Convention Center.

The event will also grow at Beech Bend Raceway, featuring exhibition cars with 200+ MPH dragsters and gasser style Tri-Fives. Food vendors and a hospitality tent for American Tri-Five Association members are also featured. General admission tickets can be purchased at the Beech Bend gate for $20 per person.

The American Tri-Five Association, the event’s sanctioning body headquartered in Bright, Ind., will add more Tri-Five events across the country, starting on the west coast in spring of 2018.
